     Title: VStrata Behind Marathon Results
In early July, tens of thousand of people will be checking online progress and results of runners in this years Gold Coast Airport Marathon and it's all stored locally on the Gold Coast on Virtual Private Servers at OntheNet.

ID devices on the shoelaces of each runner capture their progress at specific points along the course which is fed back to servers at OntheNet and then made available online.

In addition, this year ASICS are offering their innovative "Run With Me" online program that allows runners to share their progress via FaceBook, and allows family and friends to leave photo messages on the big screens for runners along the course. See www.asicsrunwithme.com.au for more detail.

All this operates on VStrata Virtual Private Servers at OntheNet, who have the technicial resources to support such an event and the huge burst of online activity over a relatively short term. Abundant bandwidth combined with significant server resources and all manner of redundancy is available to the organisers to ensure race progress and results are rapidly available to the public. OntheNet have been sponsors of the Gold Coast Airport Marathon for many years.
